random thoughts

Well i’m not doing to well at this upkeep of the blog am I?  Not that it matters, I think i’m the only person that regularly looks.  I’ve come down with this stupid cold, and it’s just a nuisance.  The family has some big stuff happening this year, we welcome our second rug rat to the family, and many other good changes, stay tuned.  A gentlemen by the name of Benson Hines has been traveling up and down the east coast looking at different college ministries and doing a report/book or whatnot on them.  I just found out that you can get the free e-book here.  I’m excited to start reading it.  Although I have to admit, I am a terrible reader.  Not that I can’t, in fact I read quite well, it just doesn’t get to the top of my wahoo list of things to do very quickly.  Either way, if you have a desire to learn more about college aged people check it out.  Also check out his blog and others on the right column on my main page.

This summer our ministry is partnering with two other youth ministries in town and doing a combined weekly outreach/study.  I’m super excited for it.  As we discovered quickly, we are all gone at various times of the summer, the kids are all gone randomly, and it’s hard to carry on a regular summer program of study.  So we figured we’d join forces.  We’re going to do the “Gospel Journey” for Middle School and the “Gospel Journey: Maui” for High School, created by Dare 2 Share.  It’s going to be a first attempt at something like this, so it should be interesting to see how it goes and evaluate it after that.
